What are scores used for?

Scores are used to compare or evaluate surveys. You can only assign answers/option sets, and hence also answer values, to the Text, Numerical, Date, and Date range question types if the Evaluation by reviewer attribute is set to Yes. These answers/option sets are then displayed to the survey reviewer for evaluation.

  • Score (target)

    Specifies the score to be achieved in a section, a questionnaire, or a survey.

  • Score (actual)

    Indicates the score achieved for a question in a section, a questionnaire, or a survey.

    • Calculation for sections

      The actual score for a section is calculated by adding together the answer values of the selected answers in the section and in the subsections.

    • Calculation for questionnaires

      The actual score for a questionnaire is calculated by adding together the answer values of the selected answers in the sections and subsections assigned to the questionnaire. The calculation only includes questionnaires with the survey status Completed and the review status Accepted .

    • Calculation for surveys

      The actual score for a survey is calculated by adding together the answer values of the selected answers in the questionnaires assigned to the survey.

  • Score (average)

    Indicates the average score achieved in a questionnaire or in a survey.

    The average score is calculated by dividing the sum of the actual scores for all questionnaires by the number of questionnaires. The calculation only includes questionnaires with the status Completed and the review status Accepted.

    The calculation depends on the object the average score is calculated for. The calculation for surveys, for example, includes all questionnaires assigned to the survey.

  • Minimum score

    Indicates the lowest value achieved.

  • Maximum score

    Indicates the highest value achieved.

  • Score (median)

    Indicates the calculated median value. The median is particularly suitable for non-normally distributed populations, because unlike the average value, this calculation does not include extremely differing values. Example: 9 persons each earn 1,000 Euro and 1 person earns 1,000,000 Euro. The average income is 100,900 Euro, but the median income is just 1,000 Euro.
