Objects of Survey Management
The following objects are relevant to Survey Management.
Questionnaire template
Questionnaire templates specify the questions to be answered by the interviewees in a survey. The questions must be structured in sections. Questionnaire templates can be reused for another environment or in another ARIS Risk and Compliance installation.
Questionnaire
The questionnaires are generated via a survey scheduler. The questionnaires for different roles are combined in surveys. The interviewee groups responsible can view the questionnaires in My tasks. The survey manager can view the questionnaires in Explorer > Survey Management.
Question template
Questions contain the actual question text. Either/or questions or multiple-choice questions (Single choice or multiple choice question type) are easier for users to answer. These questions can be evaluated by means of answer values (= target score), which are assigned to the answers.
You can only assign answers/option sets, and hence also answer values, to the Text, Numerical, Date, and Date range question types if the Evaluation by reviewer attribute is set to Yes. These answers/option sets are then displayed to the survey reviewer for evaluation.
A question can only be assigned once within a section, but can be assigned in various sections at the same time. Several answer options or one option set can be assigned to a question. You cannot simultaneously assign answer options and an option set. The respective assignment must be removed before another one can be added.
Option set template
Answer options are combined in an option set. A simple example of an option set is one containing the answers Yes and No. Another example is an option set containing answers that relate to the effects of risks. The answers could be defined as Minor/insignificant, Moderate, Critical and Catastrophic/fundamental. The risks can be evaluated by the answer value assigned to the answers.
Answer options
To answer the single choice and multiple choice question types, the interviewee is provided with answer options. These are either assigned directly to the question or are assigned via an option set, which combines answer options.
Each answer has an answer value assigned to it, which is used for evaluating and comparing questionnaires. The answer values of the selected answers are added together for the Multiple choice question type.
You can only assign answers/option sets, and hence also answer values, to the Text, Numerical, Date, and Date range question types if the Evaluation by reviewer attribute is set to Yes. These answers/option sets are then displayed to the survey reviewer for evaluation.
Survey scheduler
A survey scheduler, together with a questionnaire template, enables you to generate surveys.
Survey
Surveys combine questionnaires that were generated at a specific time by a survey scheduler. The same questionnaire is provided to different roles within a survey. The survey reviewer roles responsible for review can view the surveys in My tasks. The survey manager can view the surveys in Explorer > Survey Management.
Section template
Sections are used to structure questionnaires. The sections contain the questions.
A section can only be assigned to one questionnaire template. Each section can contain several questions. A section can have several subsections.
Sections are always assigned to the questionnaire template they were originally generated for, that is, they cannot be used in other questionnaire templates, even if they are no longer used in the questionnaire template they are assigned to. You can, however, reuse a section you removed from a questionnaire template with
Assign.
