Transfer Risk and Compliance roles to ARIS Repository

To be able to assign roles with object-specific role level to the relevant objects, such as risks or controls, in an ARIS modeling environment, import the ARIS Risk and Compliance-specific roles to ARIS using the Send roles to ARIS Repository report. The report is intended to be used regularly by modelers to import object-specific roles as OT_PERS_TYPE object definitions from ARIS Risk and Compliance to ARIS Architect. For detailed information, refer to How to manage users, roles, and their privileges.

Prerequisite

The ARIS Risk and Compliance environment containing the roles to be imported is assigned the ARIS database that is used for the import (ARIS Risk and Compliance Administration Administration > General > Environments > <environment> > ARIS database).

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Start ARIS Architect.

  2. Click ARIS > ARIS Architect Explorer Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.

  3. Click Navigation Navigation in the bar panel if the Navigation bar is not activated yet.

  4. Navigate to the relevant database in ARIS Architect and log in to the database.

  5. Right-click the database or the group of the database from which you want to run the report.

  6. Click Evaluate > Start report.

  7. Select the ARIS Risk and Compliance category.

  8. Select the Send roles to ARIS Repository report.

  9. Click Next and then Finish.

The object-specific roles created in ARIS Risk and Compliance are imported as Role objects (OT_PERS_TYPE) into the ARIS database. If an ARIS Risk and Compliance role is already associated with an OT_PERS_TYPE object definition, the attributes Name and Description of the OT_PERS_TYPE object definition are updated. If the role is deactivated in ARIS Risk and Compliance, the Deactivated attribute is set to true, otherwise it is set to false. If an ARIS Risk and Compliance role is not already represented with an OT_PERS_TYPE object definition, the OT_PERS_TYPE object definition is created and the attributes Name, Description, ARIS Risk and Compliance role, ARIS Risk and Compliance role level and ARIS Risk and Compliance GUID are transferred. The new object definitions are created in the group for which this report is run. If the report is run on the database, the object definitions are created in the Imported ARCM roles group directly under the main group.

Now, you can assign roles with object-specific role level to the relevant objects.
