Create policy exceptions

You can define exceptions for policy roll-outs. This can be exceptions based on time or minimal changes, for which it is not necessary to pass the approval process for the policy roll-out again.

Prerequisite

  • You have the Policy manager or Policy owner role.

  • The Current policy roll-out attribute of the policy roll-out is set to Yes. For newly created policy roll-outs the Current policy-roll out attribute is set to No. The attribute is automatically set to Yes, as soon as the approval status is set to Approved and the publishing status to Published.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Click Explorer Explorer.

  2. Click Policy Management > Policy roll-outs. The list is displayed.

  3. Filter the list by Current policy roll-out = Yes.

  4. Click the relevant policy roll-out.

  5. Click Assigned objects > Exceptions. The list is displayed.

  6. Click New Create. The form divided into Overview and Information is displayed.

  7. Specify name, description and reason, if required.

  8. If necessary, enter the period during which the exception will apply.

  9. Assign the hierarchy elements that can be affected by the exception.

  10. Assign documents with further information, if necessary.

  11. Click Save Save.

The exception for the policy roll-out is saved.
