Migrate risk and compliance role types and levels

Migrate the risk and compliance role types and role levels before you transfer Risk and Compliance data that follow the former modeling convention (up to version 10.0.17), where the role types and role levels were modeled in separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects (OT_PERS_TYPE). The report migrates the separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects into the user group object (OT_PERS_TYPE), in which role type and role level are defined as value attributes. For detailed information on modeling guidelines, refer to the Modeling Conventions.

Prerequisite

All models with ARIS Risk and Compliance-relevant role and role level object occurrences are closed. Otherwise, the report cannot update them.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Start ARIS Architect.

  2. Click ARIS > ARIS Architect Explorer Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.

  3. Click Navigation Navigation in the bar panel if the Navigation bar is not activated yet.

  4. Navigate to the relevant database in ARIS Architect and log in to the database.

  5. Right-click the database or the group of the database from which you want to run the report. When you select a database, all separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects are migrated. When you select a group, only the separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects of that group, including all subgroups, are migrated.

  6. Click Evaluate > Start report.

  7. Select the ARIS Risk and Compliance category.

  8. Select the Risk and Compliance role types and levels report.

  9. Click Next and then Finish. The dialog is displayed.

  10. Select if you want to ignore, delete, or rename the old ARCM-relevant role and role level objects.

  11. If you selected Rename, enter the prefix or suffix that should be added to the role object names.

  12. Decide if the new Role and Role level attributes of the updated role object should be displayed at the object occurrence. This is useful if you selected that the old role objects are to be deleted.

  13. Click OK.

If you have run this report on a database, all separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects are migrated and the assigned user group objects are updated. If you have run this report on a group, only the separate ARCM-relevant role and role level objects of this group including all subgroups are migrated and the assigned user group objects in ARIS Risk and Compliance are updated.

Now, you can transfer Risk and Compliance data from ARIS Architect to ARIS Risk and Compliance.
