Offline operator/Offline editor
In contrast to most other role types in ARIS Risk and Compliance the Offline operator and Offline editor role types cannot be assigned to roles in ARIS Risk and Compliance. These role types merely define the task they perform. For procedures and background information, refer to offline processing.
Offline operator
The offline operator can download and upload objects for users who do not have access to ARIS Risk and Compliance. The following roles can function as an offline operator:
Control test manager for control tests
Risk manager for risk assessments
Survey manager for questionnaires
Policy manager for policy reviews
The user selected as the editor for the object in the Upload offline objects dialog is saved as the editor (Performed by), not the user who uploads the object.
Offline editor
The term offline editor refers to users who edit objects offline. They can also upload and download their objects. The following roles have this privilege:
Control tester for control tests
Risk owner and Risk reviewer for risk assessments
Interviewees and Survey reviewers for questionnaires
Policy owner for policy reviews
Dual control
The user who downloaded and uploaded an object as offline operator cannot download or upload the same object with any other role than the role that was used for the first download. Dual control is only applied if automatic confirmation type is selected when uploading offline files. For manual confirmation type, this is not necessary because the original user (owner or reviewer) must check the changes made offline.
An offline operator downloaded and uploaded a risk assessment with the role Risk owner (as offline operator). Now the offline operator cannot download and upload the same risk assessment with the role Risk reviewer (as offline operator) any longer.
